Matariki

This week we have been working to create a presentation about Matariki using Google Slides.

It all started last week when we had a special assembly led by Katy where we sang and a new native tree was planted to celebrate the beginning of Matariki.

We worked with a partner to create our presentation.

First we read the book Matariki written by Waiting Teepa and illustrated by Thaw Naing.

We gathered our information and tried to put the message of the book into our own words using headings and key words.

Here we are working together to create our presentation.

Today was presentation day. We stood up the front and read our presentation to the class. Some people had worked so hard that they had memorised each slide.

It wasn't a competition but we assessed each other to help us see and think about what made a presentation successful and how we could improve our own performance.

Once the presentations were finished we assessed ourselves on one of the criteria and thought about one next step for our learning.

Here are some examples of how we assessed using the success criteria.
