Love Letters

Over the term we have been creating love letters. So many of us in Room 11 love art so we figured this would be the perfect project for us.

Here is some information telling you all about it. You can also find them on Facebook where you can see  the wide variety of letters created by people from all around New Zealand.
Our mission is too spread love letters to brighten up a sterile wall..to personalise a room..to warm the cockles of someone's heart..our family have spent nearly a year in starship while one of our sons received treatment for his leukemia..one day a friend visited and handed us a bag...inside were some "love Letters"...F R A N K...they were wonderful..they took pride and place on the wall and we wanted to pass on the good feeling to other families when they arrived on the ward...on our blog we asked our supporters to create their own names in the same way so we could compile an alphabet...the response was amazing and soon enough we could give other superheroes their names..instantly rooms on the ward were brighter..now we are home again and we want to restock an alphabet and get the ball rolling again..."love letters"are great any size..any colour..toddlerish..teenagish...please tag the back of them with the artists name and what town they are from..a special touch when I mixnmatch to create a name from all over n.z..i will post pictures of your love letters as they roll in..looking forward to an overflowing mailbox..."

If you think this would be a good project for you or you know someone who needs some love, here are the details:

"Do you know a child that needs some love?
We have LOTS of it in the way of letters created by people all over NZ.
We create the child's name using these letters. We create smiles and warm hearts with this gesture.
You can message us the child's name (we also send to siblings as they are just as important) and let us know of an address. No questions asked and no age limit. We have sent to adults too xx
If you want to get creative you can also make letters on an A4 piece of paper. Laminating the letter is muchly appreciated and adding the artists name on the back adds a special touch. Don't feel overwhelmed and feel you need to make a lot because just one letter creates a lot of magic.
