We had a fantastic morning down at the Otara Town Centre today. To celebrate Matariki, the Otara Library put on a programme for schools. We walked down to the Library and on a beautiful crisp day like today it was a pleasure. When we got there we were taught to make poi. The four plait was new for most of us so it took some teamwork and concentration.
Then we went to Fresh Gallery where we were all given a bag to decorate with fabric paints.
What a creative and fun morning we had.
It was great watching you learn how to weave and work together so beautifully. How lucky are we that Otara Library invited us?
