These sessions are building upon the sessions we had in Term One. Stella is teaching the senior school the techniques of weightlifting. We started learning with no weights or bars so that we can learn to do it well before any weight is involved.
Every Thursday after lunch we go to the hall to do weightlifting with Stella. First Stella showed us how to do a snatch and how to hold the bar. What we enjoyed was when we were doing some stretches at the end to rest our bones and our legs. I like how Stella gives up her time to do weightlifting with the seniors classes. Colin and Ocean

Every Thursday, Room 11 is happily provided with a session of weightlifting. Our lovely helper Stella, has gone from average to extraordinary. We learnt warm up drills to stretch our legs, arms, calves and thighs including our back muscles. We did techniques like the snatch and last week we practised with wood sticks so we can stay safe.Stella had a good idea of playing rock paper scissors but there's a twist... if you win the person, who lost goes into the winners team. The last people standing win the game. I love weightlifting and hope that we have the opportunity to go again. Kane and Allando
On Thursday we go to do weightlifting with coach Stella. She taught us how to snatch and how to be safe while lifting the stick. We did exercises and squats which hurt my legs. When we start we always play rock paper and scissors but it's not the simple game it's when you start with a buddy and whoever loses joins the winners team. I wish I could do weightlifting everyday. Our senior syndicate has been going to weightlifting sessions. Rm 11 have been practicing how to hold and position themselves for when they use the bars. This week our coach Stella brought wooden bars for us to practice our snatch, clean, jerk and our lift. But before we do this we have to stretch so we did some squating which hurt the soul of my foot (Bryce). Once we have finished doing our amazing stretching skills we move on to the lifting the bars. 5 minutes have passed and it's time to leave. I wish I could do weightlifting everyday. Abi and Bryce
Every Thursday we visit the great big hall to see the amazing weightlifter Stella. Room 11 has been practicing with strong and long sticks. We have been working on our snatch and squats. Our favorite exercise was when we get our strong and long sticks to do the snatch squat. My partner and I found out that weightlifting is hard and you need a lot of practice. Sila and Zantye
